Our board of Trustees consists of local people who bring a wide range of professional and life experience to the charity. They guide the charity on all issues to ensure we meet the charitable objectives, our strategic plans and our legal responsibilities.
They listen to patients, staff, volunteers and our wider community and together with the Senior Management Team, set the strategic direction and ensure we meet our mission and archive our vision.
Trustees Main Responsibilities
To act for public interest, representing our patients, their loved ones, our communities, staff and volunteers.
To determine the overall direction and development of the charity through good governance and clear strategic planning.
To ensure we meet our mission statement "Our mission is to assist Cynthia Spencer Hospice to help people and their families living with life-limiting illness have quality time together by delivering expert care, both in the hospice and in the Community." and achieve our vision "a community where everyone living with a life-limiting illness and those close to them receive the care and support they need and have the power to choose how they are cared for."
To ensure that our charity and its representatives work within the legal and regulatory framework.
To Safeguard the charity's assets.
We are looking to welcome new Trustees to our Board who have passion, energy, commitment and vision to help ensure that every person who needs end of life care receives it now and in the future.
Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity funds hospice care for the West of Northamptonshire. Our aim is to continue to fund care and support to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families, while working with our partners in End-of-Life care to ensure that everyone has a choice in how they are cared for.
Our funding allows Cynthia Spencer Hospice to provide inpatient care, outpatient services, Wellbeing services, Hospice@Home, lymphoedema service and palliative care clinical nurse specialist service.

We are seeking individuals to support the charity who have one or more of the following specific skills:
Clinical Services: experience with end-of-life care would be particularly welcomed.
Retail: experience with online retail
Marketing and communication
Human Resources
